David Magyar is a Director at John Robertson Architects and acts as the practice’s Design Champion, overseeing the visual expression of the practice’s work. David’s expertise spans the residential, workplace, retail and culture sectors.
Before joining JRA, David ran his own practice, Magyar Marson Architects. Throughout his career, David has built an impressive portfolio of completed projects in the UK and overseas and his list of past clients includes DeBeers, Dresden Bank, Arsenal Football Club, MaxMara, Tods, Symbian, Nokia and Richard Green. He also completed the design of theatre, concert hall, library and exhibition spaces for the Ministry of Culture and Heritage in Abu Dhabi.
David is working with John Robertson to jointly lead on JRA’s design for a 19 storey headquarters building for Bank Med in Beirut, the practice’s first high rise project overseas. David's other recent projects include Aldwych Quarter, including grade II listed Bush House, 120 Holborn for Wainbridge, an office refurbishment in Central London and Fredericks Place Masterplan to regenerate Mercers' Estate.
David has visiting critic and teaching roles at The Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL and at Cardiff University. Within the practice he takes responsibility for JRA’s mentorship support for Part 3 architecture students, a key part of our staff development programme.
