One Great St Helen’s, London EC3

Client: Greycoat plc

One Great St Helen’s is a new build office development for client Greycoat. Located in the City of London, the building is set within a plaza centred around St Helen’s and in close proximity to the grade I listed church of St. Helen’s, as well as a number of contemporary buildings, which influenced the design and materiality.

Designed to take advantage of its corner site, One Great St Helen’s features a bowed window frontage that offers views of the two public spaces it fronts onto as well as providing a café at ground level. The aesthetic is in keeping with the practice’s contextual modernist style and takes inspiration from the varied mix of surrounding architecture in its red sandstone and glazing design. The development spans 5000m2 across ten storeys and internally JRA created flexible, high quality office space with open floorplates.

The project contributed to the development of the British Council for Offices specifications and went on to win a BCO award for best commercial office building in the region.
