Anja Schellenbauer

Anja joined JRA in 2023 as an Associate Director. She has extensive experience in the design and delivery of technically complex, large-scale and high-rise projects, leading teams through the planning, design development and construction stages and has built lasting relationships with external teams to bring projects to a successful conclusion.

Prior to joining JRA, Anja’s career included 12 years at Conran & Partners as Associate Director and Head of Sustainability and roles at Grimshaw and Fletcher Priest Architects. During this time, her experience included the reinvention of Grade II listed Centre Point Tower with change of use from office to high-end residential and award-winning workplace fit-out projects for C&P, as well as One Lothbury, a retained façade scheme in the City of London and the new built L&Q Headquarters in West Ham Lane for FPA. Her expertise spans sectors and she possesses both creative and forensic technical skills, with extensive experience in project and risk management, contracts and construction law.

Anja’s approach focuses on creating places where people love to live and work, re-purposing underperforming buildings and mending the fabric of existing neighbourhoods. Anja is a Certified Passivhaus Designer and is listed on the RIBA Conservation Register. She is an active member of the Sustainable Design Collective and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience more widely within the industry.
