John Robertson at NLA Awards

Principal Director John Robertson presented the New London Architecture Award for Homes last week. The award was given to Coffey Architects for Mews House, described as an intricately designed piece of joinery crafted to live in.

John presented the award at the NLA Awards lunch on 7th July following his role as an Expert Assessor for the Conservation and Retrofit category. The award for best built Conservation and Retrofit project was given to Peter Barber Architects for Mount Pleasant Studios, a sheltered housing project utilising an existing Victorian building. Fairfield Halls & College Green, the masterplan of a cultural quarter in Croydon by Rick Mather Architects was selected as the winner of the best un-built project for the category.

John was selected for the role of Expert Assessor following JRA’s successful refurbishment and restoration of projects including Grade II listed Bush House as part of Aldwych Quarter and the Grade II* listed Daily Express Building on Fleet Street, earning JRA a reputation for having a sensitive and knowledgeable approach to conservation.
