#johnremembers – A Personal View of London’s Architecture is an exhibition featuring entries from the creative community and wider public to John Roberson Architects’ recent Instagram competition. As part of the London Festival of Architecture, JRA encouraged users to post photos of London with a personal story on what the place means to them. Entries ranged from local secret spaces to favourite landmarks, through to selfies and #throwback photos.
This exhibition features some of the best posts received, cataloguing personal memories of sites across London to form an insightful snapshot of our city past and present through the eyes of those who’ve shaped it. Contributors include Peter Murray, Laura Marks, Sarah Mann and Bompas and Parr, as well as the winning competition entries.
Visitors to the exhibition, hosted at Dreamspace Gallery, Clerkenwell are encouraged to interact with the images on display by reading the personal experiences attached to the works and taking memories home by removing the cards from the walls. The display will shift and change throughout its time at Dreamspace, with memories beneath the cards slowly revealed.
The exhibition runs from 23rd June until 14th July, 9-5pm, Monday to Friday. The gallery is open to all and is free of charge.
