Andy is a graduate of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen and joined JRA as a Part II assistant in 2015 and has since qualified as an Architect. He was promoted to Project Director in 2023.
Andy was the Project Architect on the Walsingham House redevelopment project, a £21m major remodelling of a 1930s office building within the Trinity Square conservation area in the City of London. This complex project involved a partial façade retention, a large roof extension and a full Cat A fit out. The 2-storey extension and rationalised floor plates provided a significant uplift in the NIA. The project achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’. Most recently Andy was the Associate in charge of the refurbishment of Broadgate Quarter, a £6.5m refurbishment of the office floors and public realm and the remodelling of the ground floor retail spaces for client Blackstone.
Currently, Andy is working on the refurbishment of Northcliffe House. Originally the home of the Daily Mail newspaper, the building was significantly remodelled and let as offices in the 1990s and is now undergoing a major redevelopment to bring the accommodation up to modern standards for workspace design and sustainability.
Andy has a great deal of experience working though all work stages, from concept to planning and through detailed design and working with major contractors in a novated role. Andy has particular experience working on technically complex refurbishment projects such as those involving retained facades and projects with challenging structural requirements.
