JRA was founded on the belief that no building is beyond redemption. Over the 30 years that followed, we cultivated our unrivalled expertise in retrofit. When we expanded our offering, we incorporated the same circular principles to new build and cemented our reputation for designing and delivering some of the best, most sustainable buildings in the country. Our diverse portfolio includes celebrated Retrofit and New Build Workplaces, Residential, Education, Interiors, Historical and Listed Buildings, Urban Placemaking, and Executive Architect and Compliance Monitoring services. Our versatility is our strength and everything we do is underpinned by our original resolution to optimise the places and spaces that form the fabric of our cities. We now operate from London, Edinburgh, and Lodz, Poland.

We are proud to have architectural and interior design, delivery, and compliance monitoring specialists under one roof, meaning we are capable of developing projects from start to finish. JRA is formed of small studios that make up one big team. We view diversity and equality as assets to celebrate. 17 different nationalities make up our teams and there is 50/50 gender parity practice wide. Senior staff are role models and mentors, showing progression and work/life balance are not exclusive ideals. We actively empower staff through opportunity by cultivating creativity, initiative, and ownership. Together we enjoy a lively and engaging studio environment. We host studio-wide ‘Thursdays with Purpose,’ project showcases, public exhibitions, special-interest clubs, and bi-annual parties, and staff are supported through our wellbeing and mental health programs. We also nurture the next generation of talent by accommodating work experience placements.
